We are a team of Washington and Lee University journalism students who came together to delve into local education issues for our senior capstone reporting project. Catch us showcasing our skills across the nation and abroad next year!

Bri Hatch

Tori (she/her) majored in journalism and English. She produced the Rockbridge Report, served as web editor for The Ring-tum Phi and reported for the News-Gazette in Lexington, Va. Tori wants to work as a broadcast news producer. She enjoys board games, medieval poetry and bubble tea.

Tori Johnsson

Lily (she/her) majored in journalism and politics. She is the creator and host of a weekly podcast called “Be the change.” and reported for the Rockbridge Report. She is also a writer for News Over Audio, an audio journalism company based in Dublin, Ireland. After graduation in 2023, Lily heads to graduate school in the United Kingdom. She enjoys hiking and exploring new coffee shops.

Bri (she/they) majored in journalism and politics. She led The Ring-tum Phi, reporting on sexual assault, hazing and more. Hatch interned for The Chronicle of Higher Education and freelanced for Cardinal News. Starting in July 2023, they will report on education in Baltimore for WYPR 88.1 as a member of Report for America. Hatch loves live indie-folk music and scenic runs in new places.
